2011

Our Founder, Diane, enrolls in the “Arts of the Crafts” class available at the high school she attends.
At the end of the school year, she builds her own frame loom from scrap wood in her woodshop class.

Ottawa, ON, Canada

2017

Diane receives her first Rigid Heddle Loom as a Christmas gift.

2018

Diane finds an online article published by The Guardian titled “How your clothes are poisoning our oceans and food supply.”
She resolves to use only natural fibres from then on.

Algonquin College, ON, Canada

2018

Diane attends the SUMMIT2018 Summer Business Intensive offered by Algonquin College and officially turns her hobby into a business; Hampshire Hill – Practical, Natural, Handwoven Textiles
She purchases a 4-foot rigid heddle loom with the grant money offered by successful completion of the SUMMIT2018 program.

Algonquin College, ON, Canada

2023

Diane enrolls in the Cabinetmaking and Furniture Technician program at Algonquin College to learn woodworking techniques she can use to design and build frame and rigid heddle looms herself.

2023

Diane’s Master Business Licence for Hampshire Hill expires and she re-registers her business as Hampshire Hill Crafts in Ontario.

Prince Edward Island, Canada

2025

Diane moves to the province of Prince Edward Island from Ontario and officially registers her business in her new province.
